English paper

I have an English paper that’s is due next week. I don’t really like writing paper for English, because I am not very good at it. But because I am not very good at writing papers I enjoy doing them because it is something that I am not very good at and I want to learn how to do a better job. I like the challenge that is associated with the paper and they are really vague topics, so I can write in whatever way I choose to. There are defiantly a few things that I would rather do then write papers, but I don’t mind it to much. 

Homework

Today I am doing all of my homework for the weekend. Doing homework is not very fun, so normally I break it up and do a little bit at a time during the weekend. I don’t have too much this weekend because I just had a test in the class that gives me the most homework. There is a lot of work in chemistry, but I think that the class is interesting. I have always liked the idea of making new things out of stuff that we cant see. It is like legos but way better. I have a chemistry lab that I have to write up, and a quiz, and then I have to set up my lab notebook for next weeks quiz. I also have an English paper that is due next week. 

food

Food

I think that over all the food here is pretty good. It is nice to have hot food always ready for me whenever I want to go eat. At a moments notice I can decide I am hungry and it just there waiting. At home my mom also always has food ready to eat, but if I am not hungry when it is ready I miss it and it goes in the fridge and then it gets cold and well then I have to heat it up which isn’t really a big deal its not that much work, and it is still really good, but it is not fresh like it was when she first made it. All in all the food in both places have benefits, as well as a negative side. I like my moms cooking and look forward to it when I know I am going home.

Laundry

Laundry

I really do not mind doing laundry. I like cleaning, and I like organizing my stuff after I wash it. Doing laundry at home is great if you forget it in the washer for a little while no body comes and puts it on the dirty floor so they can clean their clothes. When your home the soap and dryer sheets are right there next to you where they should be. They are not in your room; there is no going all the ways back up four flights of stairs to get the soap. No matter where you are it feels great to put on clean clothes after a good shower. It is also nice to have clean sheets. I college doing laundry might be more involved then it is when you are home but it is still worth all of the work.

sleep

Sleep

From being at college I am really learning how important it is to sleep. During high school my dad would always try to explain that you needed sleep to function.  I did not believe him, because in high school I didn’t work very hard. If you don’t have to really focus it doesn’t matter if you are really tired, or you got a good nights sleep. You can still interact with people and do normal stuff like hang out with friends. When I first got to school I tried to keep sleeping like I did in high school, but with all of the new work it was really hard for me to do my work, then I started trying to get more sleep. I lost a little time being asleep, but when I was awake my increased productivity more then made up for it.

Parts

Today I tried to find more parts for my car I did not have very good luck. I looked for a few hours. It is really hard to find exactly what you want for the year that you need it from.  Lots of websites have parts for sale, but there isn’t one place that you can go to get everything. It is frustrating to know what you want to get and try to find it but you cant. I feel like I do when I loose something just lost and disappointed. Feeling this way is frustrating and I do not enjoy it. Sometimes I wish there was a place where I could order everything that I wanted all from the same place. I enjoy looking at and learning about all of the different parts, so I guess today wasn’t a complete failure. Even though I feel like I did.

 Military

I am very grateful for our military. It is very honorable what they do for our country. I hope that some day one of the materials that I find can be used to held improve the life of a solider weather it helps make some sort of body armor, or it is used to make a vehicle that they rely on more reliable. One of my dads’ friends is a doctor in the military. When I was growing up I thought it was really cool what he did so I have always been interested in the military and the things that they use. Some times he sends me some clothes or stuff that he used.

Materials

When I was a kid I wanted to make a supper suit that was basically indestructible, I loved to explore and the clothes that I had and grew to love would never last when I was out side playing. So I have always had an interest in materials. As I got older I wanted bigger toys that I could abuse, and play with really hard, and have them last. The materials that things are made out of have greatly improved, but things still wear out. I want to make something that never does. I have been thinking about the way that different atoms from different molecules. I want to find the next supper material.

Curiosity

I have always been curious about how things worked as a kid I was always talking my toys apart, but now I am older and take my toys apart to try and find ways to make them better. This is part of the reason that I choose the major that I did. I choose to be a chemical engineer because I like creative problem solving. In my everyday life I question everything I am around, even the really simple stuff and think is there a way that I could improve this. After being at school for a while I have noticed that this curiosity is shifting more towards the way things work on a chemical level.  

car

Car

I love my car. I love working I love working on my car and I live driving my car. I haven’t been home for a while, and I really miss my car and driving. My birthday is the Monday during vacation. So I am really looking forward to being home. I have a list of a bunch of things that I have been wanted to do to my Subaru but haven’t had time to do because I have been away at school. Last night I ordered the first part, and now I am so excited to get the packages. That is another great thing online shopping. I think it is really cool that you can buy stuff with out ever talking to or seeing anyone. You don’t even have to leave your bed and then stuff just gets sent to you.

Sunday

For me Sundays are a time to get everything organized for the week. I do my laundry and finish up with that last little bit of homework. Today I am going to go to the grocery store. I like to eat, and the dinning halls here have weird schedules and they don’t always have what I want to eat, so I like to have food in my room that I can cook when I get hungry. I enjoy cooking, it is nice to take a break during the week from something that is frustrating and just go cook a meal. I like this because I can eat what ever I want, I don’t have to choose from the food at the dining hall. It is really nice to eat something I enjoy, it makes my belly happy, and when my belly is happy it is easier for me to focus on the think that I needed to take a break from.

college life

College is a lot of fun! Part of the fun is learning how to study. High school was a lot different then college. In high school I never really had to study, I just focused in class and that was enough for me. Some times I would go back and look over my notes but it was really easy. College is a lot different. I have learned that you can’t just rely on your teachers and what you learn in class. I have learned that it is up to me to start to teach myself the material before I go to class, then after class I study the points that the professor brought up in class. It is exciting to learn new interesting things, and I am enjoying college life.

music

I like listening to music. I like finding new songs. I listening to some songs all of the time, but most songs I just listen to for a while then I stop listening to that song. When I go back and hear that song again it reminds me of the time in my life that I used to listen to that song. This is nice, because it not only is it a good song that I enjoy it reminds me of something that I have not thought of in a long time. Another good thing about music is sharing songs that you like with friends. When you listen to a song with a friend that you used to like a lot when you spent a lot of time with that person it reminds you of all of the good stuff that happened when you were with them.

sick

At the end of this week I got sick. I hate being sick. I knew it was coming too; because everyone on my floor has been sick. I tried the not to catch it. I washed my hands every chance I got, and used hand sanitizer, I even got 12 hours of sleep three nights in a row. I tried drinking water pretty much nonstop. Nothing has helped me to get over this cold. I am sick of being sick. I have been more sick then this before. I just really don’t want to deal with it anymore. Having this cold makes studying so much harder. I don’t want to focus on anything I just want to sleep. 

The clean room

Today I cleaned my room. I really enjoy having a clean room, because I have allergies and when everything is clean it is easier for me to breathe. It is really frustrating when I have allergy troubles, I feel all congested, but it really is just that every little tube in my head is swollen. I don’t mind having them so much any more because I have learned to keep everything clean so they do not effect me as much anymore, because I grew up having to keep everything clean it has become a habit for me. I enjoy having all of my stuff clean, I think that it shows I care about my stuff, and it makes anything I do where I need to find something easier because keep my belongings put away I can more quickly pick up the dust and pollen that collects on the surfaces of the furniture and floor.

Justin

Justin is my 10-year-old bother tonight there was an event at his school where the kids in his class read a paper about their hero. Over the past few weeks he has been writing a five-page essay about a hero in his life. I was the hero that he chooses to write about. I came home for the weekend so that I could be at the school tonight when he was reading his paper. It was really nice to hear all of the nice things that he thought about me, and how much the things I do and the time I spend with him means to him. When he was first born I would sit and hold him all the time, waiting for when he was big enough to talk and go out side and play on swings. I wanted to be the cool big brother and tonight I got to hear that I was. I love my little brother so much. 

Lego Robotics

From when I was in fourth grade until I was in ninth I was on the robotics team. My school had to many kids that were interested to have every one on the schools team. My dad volunteered to coach one of the teams. He had a different way that he taught us to go about the challenges then most of the other teams. We would go for the things that were worth the most points, and try to make our robot the most reliable we possibly could. This tactic worked well for us we won the competition a few times. I always enjoyed making the vehicle part of the robot; I didn’t like the programming part of the competition

Curiosity

I have always been curious ever since I was a child. When I was a child I would take apart my toys to see how they were designed. I always wanted to figure out how things were made, and then I would try to figure out why they were made the way that they were. After I knew the way they were made I would think about if there were a way to make the same thing better. I like to make things. My dad likes to thing about the way stuff works like me. He would help me if I couldn’t understand the way that something was designed.

Dad

 My dad has done a lot of impressive things in his life. One that really stands out to me is how successful he has been with his career. He worked really hard in school to be near the top of his class, and when he graduated he was already getting job offers. After that he had some really interesting jobs in electrical engineering. Now he has his own company doing the work that he learned through his prior jobs this is interesting to me because I am like to learn how stuff works. By having his own company he can teach me about the way that companies work.

family

My family is really important to me, and I am close to them. They have been very supportive of me and helped me when I didn’t know how to do something. I have three siblings, two brothers and a sister and a dog.  The youngest is eleven and is really interested in science, and my sister is thirteen she works really hard to get what she wants, my oldest younger brother is sixteen. He plays the guitar and likes computer stuff, and video games.  My mom is very caring and she likes to cook for anyone who will eat. My dad is my role model. He always can help me answer any questions that I have about anything.
